TaoTronics LED Grow Light Bulb has 12 ultra bright LEDs (3 blue & 9 red). Among all the bulbs we reviewed, this product had one of the strongest output for its size/power. This efficiency really helps in every circumstance (when the plant need extra boost of light, or a few of sun, raining, snowing, dark indoor etc).
The focus on reducing the power consumption on this one has great results. High luminous efficiency and long service life. The electronics inside are stepping down the voltage and we actually saw an almost 20% decrease in power consumption (compared to similar lower quality products).
The outside is constructed in a pure heat-sink fashion. It does not generate any noticeable heat even when we used it 16 hours a day. A great way to have a better control on your temperature.
The wavelength and spectrum of this growing lamp can be fully absorbed by the plants photosynthesis. There is no energy waste like fluorescent lights etc. This plant growing light can rapidly improve the health of plant and growing, generally more leaves popping up within 2 weeks of using this growing lamp on a daily basis.
Regarding logistics, TaoTronics plant growing lighting is designed to fit standard E26 socket. It is very easy to set up and use. You don’t need a special lamp, a desk lamp can do.
TaoTronics is also a Popular Seller of LED Grow Lights on Amazon with 6 years of business experience and we were never disappointed working with them. Their customer support and warranty are amazing!
When comparing grow lighting options there is a lot of information provided that simply does not cover the important characteristics of the equipment. For example, light “watts”: the watts of a light is a measurement of the power consumed. So it does not tell you anything about the quality of the light delivered. However, Watts can be important for determining your future electric bill, your thermal signature and for comparing the relative size of the light. But not for the quality of the lighting delivered. Hence, the two key measurements that matter in comparing the quality of the light delivered are the spectrum that the light includes (ie, the colors the light creates).

Specifically developed for growing medicinal marijuana and CBD dominant plants, GoGrow LED Grow lights are becoming increasingly popular for both large commercial setups and small grow rooms/tents (acting as the main light). The brand has 12 years of experience developing LED grow lights and claims to have packed all their last technologies in this brand new GoGrow LED review V3 Master Grower : the one we loved was the extra red-spectrum which enables plants (marijuana specifically) to flourish even better and helps creating dense buds. Another important point : the GoGrow LED review is a full-spectrum grow light it covers all steps of the production, from seedling to flowering.
If you are familiar with the previous version of this LED, you will be happy to hear the V3 has been improved on many fronts : the overall product looks much better (no ducting, no reflector hood), the cooling system allows for better temperature regulation and less dryness in the growing area, and claims to only use 70% of the energy required by the previous version for an even stronger output.
In terms of maintenance, the brand provides a decent customer service with a money back guarantee during the first month and a 3-year warranty.

The NOVA N300 is a powerful mid-sized LED grow light featuring a US brand of LED bulb technology usually not available in lights this size and wattage. Packed into 300 watts the brand has optimized the 12 band spectrum in ratios of red, blue, UV (Dimmer than rest of LEDs) and IR (Not visible to the naked eye) to cover precisely the wavelengths your plants will need throughout the entire growth cycle. The lamps feature their proprietary Nova Air Ventilation System, with 3 high powered virtually silent fans. The high quality US brand of LED bulbs we use (BridgeLUX) boast an average of 50,000 hours of lifetime, per bulb!
Additionally, the grow light has a wide angle (120 degree light spread) for a wide coverage area. It is perfect for a compact to medium grow, using it as the main light. Also, if you are looking to grow more or double the PAR, the daisy chain feature allows you to easily expand to as many lights as needed.
Compares to a 300 watt HPS replacement while consuming ONLY 180 watts of power, a significant decrease in energy cost and bills.
NOTE: It is important to keep in mind that grow techniques and methodologies vary drastically depending on what you are growing and how. We encourage you to spend the time to experiement with different height and spacing settings in order to optimize your set up.

The MARS HYDRO REFLECTOR SERIES 48 Lights are a great value with a light reflection design that is becoming more and more popular in the LED grow light industry. While other (non LED) grow light systems have long used reflective designs to maximize the light to target, the LED grow light industry is just figuring out the benefits and the methods to use reflective surfaces with the many small light sources arrayed to produce an LED grow light.
The MarsHydro reflector series is a new model that also combines the powerful 5 watt LED Epistar diodes in the right mix of LED light spectrum with a reflective system to maximize the light on your plants. Additionally, the compact design, cool operating temperatures and large coverage area makes this series great for small growing areas where there is limited space. The Mars Reflector also features a “Grow & Bloom” switch for maximum control and energy savings. You can set your light for Growth and Seeding mode(Veg) or for Bloom mode when your plants are ready to flower.
The MARS HYDRO REFLECTOR SERIES 48 series is the most efficient and cost effective model they offer. Also, don’t be mislead by the number “48” in the model. The MarsHydro Reflector 48 title refers to the fact that there are 48 LED chips in the light, and since each chip is al 5 watt LED, the light has 240 watts of LED lighting power, amplified by the reflective design.

The Mars Hydro company is an established Chinese company that has been in the LED grow light business for several years and just released one of their best product to date : the MARS HYDRO 400W LED (series II).
They have a number of lights on the market available through multiple retailers and channels. The company has recently launched three new light series, including the “series II”.
Mars Hydro’s new series ll lights are built with several features that make them a significant improvement over the older generation of Mars Hydro lights. The MARS HYDRO II 400 Watt LED LIGHT is one of their most promising offerings, here’s why:
While the entry cost for LED lighting is higher that some other formats, we believe LED lighting is the clear winner as the best lighting in the indoor growing business and see the 5 watt chip as the direction of all LED lighting.
The canopy penetration and spectrum offered also make this format the best available, and the lower heat signature and the lowest operating cost seal the deal.

MarsHydro II SPECTRUM: 430~440nm, 450~475nm, 620~630nm, 650~660nm, IR, white and the LUMENS (ie intensity of the light hitting the plant). The MarsHydro II 400 is high on the Lumens chart due to the 5 watt Epistar LED Chips used in the unit. The 5 Watt chip will provide higher Lumen output and insure deeper canopy penetration.
All in all, the new MARS HYDRO II 400W is a major improvement over their first generation light. This improvement is primarily a result of switching to the newer 5 watt LED chips. The new lights hence deliver great spectrum and intensity. However, the real differentiator is the great price of around $189 for a 400W light using 5W LED chips…
Bottom line is a strong Buy recommendation! Best Light for the money.
